Today is a cake day!

Thursday, June 3rd, 2010

I have decided to change my blog into more of an actual blog.  So I am going to tell you about what I am working on today.  I am baking 3 cakes today to decorate for tomorrow and Saturday.

One of them is for a friend’s 5 year old.  it is going to be a western theme.  I just colored the fondant for the bottom - denim blue. I am about to start a second batch of fondant for that cake and my daughters’ cakes. Gonna go microwave it.

I decided to take pictures of the fondant process, I will post them when we get back from vacation!

It has been a long time!

A beach bag filled with everything you need for a day on the sand.  Or maybe a bag filled with a traveler’s souvenirs for a birthday.  Or a student’s tote with overflowing books for a graduation party.  This cake has so many unique and fun possibilities.

Love Around The World

Saturday, May 3rd, 2008

For a love around the World theme for Michele’s bridal shower, I made a flat map of the Eastern Hemisphere and marked the places they have visited with miniature flags. Notice the “coming soon” flag to show their honeymoon destination.

Tulare County Panhellenic Woman of the Year

Saturday, April 26th, 2008

Congratulations go out to Katy Rominger, who recently received the award for Woman of the Year from Tulare County Panhellenic.

With this cake I tried to incorporate all the emblems of Katy’s sorority, Kappa Alpha Theta.

Their pin design, a kite, with its twin stars and Greek letters is on to. The edges are adorned with royal icing pansies, their flower.

A glamorous day needs a fabulous cake!

This would be the perfect cake for a sweet sixteen or sexy 60, or anywhere in between!

The colors could be adjusted to fit your color scheme.

I can even make the shoe match a favorite shoe from your closet!

This was a fun cake to make!

The party was at a fun restaurant in Tulare, CA called Aero Dogs. It was built in the fuselage of a T-29 airplane.
